Functional Aesthetic Medicine
Bioregenerative aesthetic medicine is a branch of cosmetic treatment that utilizes the body’s natural healing mechanisms to restore a youthful appearance by stimulating collagen production and enhancing skin elasticity, essentially working with the body’s own biology to rejuvenate the skin rather than relying on synthetic materials or invasive surgeries; common examples include platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy which harnesses the patient’s own growth factors to promote skin regeneration.
Key points about bioregenerative aesthetic medicine
Natural approach
It aims to leverage the body’s innate ability to heal and regenerate itself, unlike traditional cosmetic procedures that may rely on artificial implants or extensive surgery.
Minimally invasive
Most bioregenerative treatments are minimally invasive or non-invasive, often involving injections of the patient’s own blood products or growth factors.
Collagen stimulation
The primary goal is to stimulate the production of collagen, a protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness, to address concerns like wrinkles and sagging skin.
Unveiling the Power of Bioregenerative Treatments
Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse
In recent years, the field of Aesthetic Medicine has witnessed remarkable advancements in the realm of bioregenerative treatments. These innovative procedures offer a natural and long-lasting solution for various aesthetic concerns, including facial rejuvenation and volume restoration.
Fountain of Youth in a Vial
Sculptra is a unique dermal filler that utilizes poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen production, resulting in a gradual and natural-looking facial rejuvenation. Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are jelly-like in consistency and used for contour, sculpting, and shape. These fillers provide immediate results. Sculptra is water-like in consistency, and when injected just below the surface of the skin, triggers the body’s natural healing response, promoting the production of new collagen, strengthening skin, and creating glow. This gradual approach ensures a subtle and natural outcome.
The Power of Collagen Stimulation
Collagen, the structural protein responsible for maintaining the firmness and elasticity of our skin, naturally begins to decline in our mid-to late 20’s and continues to decrease as we age. The decrease becomes more noticeable in our 30’s and 40’s, leading to common signs of aging such as fine lines, wrinkles, and less elastic skin. Sculptra’s bioregenerative properties allow it to stimulate collagen production and restore lost volume, effectively reversing or slowing the signs of aging.
By promoting the body’s own regenerative processes, Sculptra yields long-lasting results that can last up to two years. Most patients will opt to have one treatment per year, to keep the collagen stimulation going.
How Many Treatments?
To “tank up” on collagen, Sculptra will require 2-3 treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. The treatment is relatively comfortable with lidocaine numbing at the injection site. Lidocaine is also added to the Sculptra reconstitution solution.
Redness, swelling and/or bruising may result from Sculptra injections, but these are temporary side effects and will resolve within two – three weeks.
Aftercare
- For comfort and to accelerate healing:
- Ice the areas injected for the first 48 hours
- Tylenol 325mg-500mg every 3-4 hours (if you are sore)
- Arnica sublingual (under the tongue) and/or Arnica Cream help resolve bruising.
Which Treatment is Good for Me?
At this point, after reading about Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse, you may be asking yourself, “which one is good for me?” They appear to be so similar! (AND… the cost of these treatments are the same). As always, at Silver Solutions MedSpa, a consultation is required before treatment. Your concerns and expectations will be discussed and our medical professionals will educate you about non-surgical treatments that are best for you and your concerns.
Would you like to embrace the advancements in bioregenerative treatments and unlock the potential of your own body, unveiling a refreshed version of yourself without invasive procedures or major downtime?
Radiesse
There is an immediate correction with gel matrix with CaHA microspheres which immediately fills lost volume. Then the microspheres form a scaffold that stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen.
The collagen network is formed in the dermis and the aqueous gel carrier is naturally absorbed. The patient’s own natural collagen is left behind, providing structural support for the dermis and facilitates the long-lasting effects of Radiesse.
May last up to 18 months with 1/year treatment.
May be used in the face, hands and neck
Sculptra
Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen-the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cell and tissue- for results that can last more than two years. Also indicated for a “glow” to the skin.
